This time, we'll be doing IMMERCENARY. An old, little-known 3DO game that has almost nothing written about it. You'll notice that I wrote its only review, as well. You're welcome. Chances are you're not reading this, but if you are, cool. I looked for Immercenary guides too, and found nothing. I was forced to do stuff on my own, and it didn't turn out to be too hard, but, well, hey. Every (good) game needs a guide, and this (good) game has been ignored for too long. So, in conclusion.... PARTY ON, DUDES! 1011101110001101110100011010110101011111100101010100010100110100010011010110 {LEGAL CRAP} This guide is copyright 2003 by Matt Hodsdon, otherwise known as RPGMatt. If you steal it, you're not cool. If you'd like to post this guide on your website, E-mail me. If you mail me and politely ask, there's a 100% chance of me letting you do it. The following websites are allowed to post this guide: GameFAQs Neoseeker (although they don't seem to have a 3DO section) IGN That's all for now. 1011101110001101110100011010110101011111100101010100010100110100010011010110 {VERSION HISTORY} >0.10: Started. Did title, contents, legal crap, version history, and hints. Did first parts of walkthrough. Started enemy list, typed in my stats. Did glossary. Everything's here, just unfinished. Also added a cheesy easter egg that you've probably already noticed. >0.30: Improved stuff. Added contact information (oops!) and fixed the quote at the top, which was wrong. Almost finished the enemy section. Updated stats. >0.50: More walkthrough. A couple new general tips. >0.85: Finished walkthrough. >1.00: Finished enemy list. Added two challenges, and listed Ammo algorithms, along with explanations and ratings. >1.01: Fixed a couple of small mistakes. >1.02: Fixed some more crap. Added more detailed reminder about the enemies' changing ranks. Added a couple more hints that I figured out. I think I'll make a map of Perfect, and label all the powerups and boss locations. Later. >1.03: Holy crap. Through the whole guide, I've been telling you to go to the DOAsys to save. God! I found out that you can return to the lab from any yellow, red, or blue spire! I also replaced the word "recharger" with "spire" everywhere that I had written recharger. Added "Spire" to the glossary. >1.04: There might be a second city to explore! Details in the new section, "A Second Garden." >1.05: Some more stuff. Added another hint, added more detailed explanations of some items. I haven't found myself in the mood to write down quotes about the second garden yet. >1.06: Quite a small update. I just remembered the "Switchya trick." Details under "Switchya" in the ammo algorithm section. Also, I found some obvious easter eggs in the stadium. They've been added to the stadium part of the walkthrough. >1.07: Fixed a typo. Figured out something about Tesla, posted it in his section of the walkthrough. STILL no Garden quotes. Also, I found out that Sylva does NOT look the same as Venus. Sorry. It's times like these that make me realize just how many times I said that Sylva looks exactly like Venus. Lol. >1.08: Two new general hints. >1.09: I did it again, I forgot to change the number at the top twice in a row! Ugh. Ign.com has been given posting permission. >1.10: Someone has mailed me a question, finally! It's in the Questions section. Also, I a fixed a typo! 1011101110001101110100011010110101011111100101010100010100110100010011010110 {GENERAL HINTS} When I say "Killing," I mean shooting them until they disappear and then collecting the static they leave behind. This is called a "Huffman." If you don't collect the static, your stats won't increase. In the beginning, you have amazingly low stats. Go to the DOAsys, where you can heal. Stay in that area, and fight weak enemies. When you're low on health or offense, go inside the DOAsys to heal. When you think you've killed enough enemies, go inside the DOAsys and return to the lab through the menu. You can now save. Every enemy has a rank. If you're rank 247, you probably shouldn't try to fight an enemy that's rank 34. To see an enemy's rank (and name,) put your crosshair over them. When you die, you'll be sent back to the lab. You'll lose some stats, and maybe an item or two. Also, if you die too many times it's game over. You should probably just load your last save if you die. The weak enemies are called "Goners." Killing them in large amounts will raise your stats without risking your life. Killing yellow ones will raise your defense. Killing red ones will raise your offense. Killing green ones will raise your agility, and killing black ones will raise everything. You'll occasionally see bosses out in the open instead of in their hideout. Watch out for them! I once saw Perfect 1 right outside the DOAsys! 8| Once you get a little stronger in the beginning by fighting Goners, you can try and fight a couple of Picassos. They're the ones that look like gingerbread men, and they're not very hard. Watch out for enemies that run behind you. If you lose sight of an enemy, just back up and look around a little. You can lock on to an enemy by keeping your crosshair over them for a second. This is useful when you're fighting enemies with lots of defense. Running out of agility sucks, so do try not to waste it. It's a little dangerous to get stuck by a bunch of Torks, and you don't want to waste a Pems, do you? Try to save your single-use items for bosses. When it storms, you won't be able to use anything but your normal weapon. DON'T STEP ON A SPIRE DURING A STORM! Press Select (Stop) to display the map. Double-tap it to see the FULL map. You can use this to find the DOAsys after you jump into Perfect. You can get out of Perfect by going inside the DOAsys. Here, you can select "Return to lab" from the menu. Do this often, or you'll risk losing all the stats you've gained since your last save. You can fire your main weapon really fast. Once you have decent offense, you can just lock on to an enemy with high defense and mash the button. You can use the Shift buttons to strafe. Not very useful. Beans. Water can be a death trap if there are high-ranking enemies nearby. Enemies fight each other as well as you. It's possible to "steal" someone else's huffman. If you can't beat a boss, raise your DOA! There can't really be anything wrong with your strategy. Most bosses have blue spires near them that you can use. Pushya might be the best Ammo Algorithm. Get it as soon as possible. As you get stronger, so will your enemies. Going up in rank is more complex than I thought it would be. I thought you just had to kill a lot of high-ranked enemies, but it actually sort of "counts" how many people are above you. You go up when you kill someone with a higher rank than yourself, but you'll ALSO go up if someone else kills them! Aha! I figured out something really cool! I noticed this once, and did some experimenting with it. Try locking onto an enemy. Do you see those arrows above your DOA bars? They tell you how much Defense, Offense, and Agility the enemy has left! So, is Perfect 1 really perfect? ....Yeah. You can return to the lab from any spire, but if you do it from a place other than the DOAsys, your stats won't be full when you re-enter. On the map, the red areas are where the bosses are. When you beat a boss, their red area will disappear from the map. It's hard to kill bosses outside their arenas. Every time I'm about to beat one out in the open, they run away and I can't find them. My advice, if you're going to try and beat them in the open, is to have high offense and nuke them. You might have to use an Annaballs to get your offense back if they don't die after two nukes (I'm assuming you have 128 DOA if you're messing around with stuff like this.) Huffmans disappear if you don't collect them fast enough. This includes boss huffmans!! Okay, this isn't much of a hint. I have never, ever talked to Medusa in the DOAsys, and I'm not sure you can. So, if you have, please tell me. You can instantly stop by pressing both shift buttons at once. Okay, I've done some testing with Stunya. In case you don't know, Stunya doesn't seem to have any effect at all on anything. Well, I've figured it out. Stunya does.... absolutely nothing. At least, not on red Goners, which should be the enemies most vulnerable to it.... --- That's all for now. 1011101110001101110100011010110101011111100101010100010100110100010011010110 {WALKTHROUGH} ------{STARTING OUT}------ Well, here we are. After a little cut-scene, you arrive in Perfect. But, this place is hardly perfect. You're here to defeat "Perfect 1," the SysOp of this virtual world. Before you can do that, though, you'll have to beat his (her?) minions. Whenever you "jump" into Perfect, you start out in a completely random place. Since you're weak at the moment, head for the DOAsys--it's the white circle on the map, a little southwest of the center. Don't do any fighting on the way there, or you'll probably die before you reach your destination. By the way, if you die, your stats will go even lower. So don't. Anyway, when you get to the DOAsys, go inside to heal. Your agility is probably out by now. You can also talk to some people while you're here. They can tell you what and where things are. Anyway, you'll have to repeat this process every time you jump into Perfect, so get used to it. Now you're ready to start building your DOA. ------{RAISING DOA}------ You see those bars at the top of the screen? Those are Defense, Offense, and Agility from top to bottom. You see how long they are? That's barely anything, especially compared to the maximum amount. You'll have to raise those stats if you hope to survive. Stay near the DOAsys, and kill the colorful enemies that are made of polygons. Make sure you huffman them, or your efforts will be for nothing. Anyway, when you start getting low on health or offense, go back into the DOAsys and heal. Now you can exit and do some more keel-haulin'. Once you've keel-hauled a satisfactory number of enemies, go back into the DOAsys. Push Start, and select "Return to Lab" from the menu. Here, you can see your complete stats, like time in combat and effectiveness. You can also see how much your DOA went up. Press Select to save. Go back, and press Start to jump. Rinse and repeat. Once your DOA is up a bit, you can try killing some Picassos. If you see one running around, lock on to it and mash the fire button. If you kill it, your rank might go up; kewl. Make sure you huffman it, too. Finally, once your DOA is up even more, you can try killing some Torks. These enemies can be hard at first, but you'll get it. There are other harder enemies, but these will be your main foes. Kill them repeatedly until your DOA bars fill up about a quarter of the length of the screen. Then, you'll probably be ready to fight.... ------{MEDUSA}------ Rank: 11 Location: Pyramid Attacks: Don't know, I killed her too fast : ) Strategy: Medusa is the weakest boss. She doesn't nessecarily have to be the first one you fight, but it's the best way to go. Anyway, when you reach the pyramid you'll have to go through a quiet, pointless maze. Medusa will be at the end of it. Use power-ups if you have to, but it's really not very hard. I got in a position where I was just next to the corner by her, and she wasn't moving or shooting. I locked on to her, and shot her about fifty times with my normal weapon. I didn't take any hits, but I DID waste an Annaballs. Ugh. Anyway, if this doesn't happen to you, just fight like you'd normally fight. Run behind corners, and then shoot her when she goes in front of you. Just never, ever stop shooting her once you've got a lock. You'll be rewarded with a better rank, and a short scene of the pyramid sinking into the ground. Now, scoot back to the DOAsys and save. ------{TESLA}------ Rank: 10 Location: Nuclear Power Plant (I think that's what it is.) Attacks: Shoots stuff at you. Lights up when he walks into the electricity in the middle. This recharges his DOA. Strategy: Alright, it's time to fight Tesla. You may know him from the DOAsys. He's that annoying guy who thinks he's the best, but he's only rank 10! If you hope to smash his ego, you'd better have decent DOA. A little bit over 33% DOA should be just fine. Basically, you should have more than what you had when you fought Medusa. So when you think you're ready, make your way to the Nuclear Power Plant. When you get to Tesla, turn left or right and go behind the pillars. You can use these for cover. Our goal here is to lure Tesla into a position where he doesn't run around constantly. If you can get him to stop, lock on to him and mash the fire button. And yes, you can kill him while he's in the electricity. It'll just take longer because it raises DOA. You can use it to recharge, too. If you've done some exploring, you might have better weapons. If you have enough offense or an Annaballs, you can try out Hex or Nukeya.... Just don't kill yourself. It happens to me every time here. I don't advise using Boomerang, because it just takes too much offense and doesn't seem much better than your normal weapon. Anyway, huffman him once he's dead. You'll see the building blow up, and then regain control of yourself. Head back to the DOAsys, and save. Ding ding ding! ------{BALKAN}------ Rank: 9 Location: Playground Attacks: Splits into smaller versions of himself. All copies will shoot you. Strategy: OK, this dude's pretty hard. You actually might want to skip ahead to Sylva and fight Balkan later. But, should you choose to fight him, you'll need DOA at about 55 percent, or maybe even more. Nukeya and Annaballs are OK here, if you don't miss with Nukeya. But, what you mostly need is high defense. Anyways, when you're ready head northeast to the playground. You'll see a cool scene that shows the ground crack in half, and then you'll be underneath the blacktop.... with Balkan. Shoot him until he splits in half, then shoot one, then another one, and so on. After you kill a "set" enough times, it'll just die without making any copies. So, you've got about 12 Balkans to fight. Yee-haw. Pushya might come in handy here. Once he's dead, huffman him and you'll somehow jump back onto the blacktop. Yay, now you won't see him at the DOAsys anymore! ------{SYLVA}------ Rank: 8 Location: Fountain Attacks: Runs fast and shoots. Strategy: This fight was over faster than it began, when I did it. Basically, Sylva just runs in circles and shoots at you. The hard part is that you're surrounded by water, and you don't have much room to move. It's a little tricky, but you'll need to get a lock on her. Then, keep the crosshair on her so you don't lose it. After a few shots, Sylva will bite it. Huffman, DOAsys, save. ------{FLY}------ Rank: 7 Location: Hive Attacks: Screws up your vision and shoots at you. Strategy: Not very hard if you're lucky, but this fight could still take a couple tries. Your stats should be about the same as they were for Balkan. When you're prepared, go to the Hive. When you get inside, walk around the center until you see a blue spire. Either this thing never runs out, or it has a lot of charge, but it should be enough to last for the entire battle. Stand on it, and when Fly comes by, fill her with holes. If you can't do it, just raise your DOA and come back. Huffman, DOAsys, save. From here on, the bosses shouldn't be too hard. Your enemies will go up in rank depending on how strong you are, but they're still not very tough to defeat. Anyway, you should have most, if not all, of the Ammo Algorithms by now. If not, do some exploring and get some. What you mostly need is Nukeya, Pushya, Hex, and maybe Boomerang. ------{RIBERTO}------ Rank: 6 Location: Phone Booth Attacks: Runs around and shoots you. Hard to hit. Strategy: Pretty much the same strategy as Fly. Find the spire, and stand on it. Riberto says in the DOAsys that he hates Stunya, but it doesn't seem to do anything to him. If you know anything about this, please tell me. Anyway, he shouldn't be too hard. He might actually be easier than Fly. ------{CHAMELEON}------ Rank: 5 Location: Mansion Attacks: Is invisible, and shoots at you. Strategy: Use the corridors to your advantage. This battle isn't very hard at all. You can easily tell where Chameleon is by moving your crosshair around until you see a number five. And yes, you CAN lock on to her. ------{CHANCE}------ Rank: 4 Location: By the weird swirly walls Attacks: Runs and shoots. Has minion things that also shoot you. Strategy: One of the harder battles. A couple of Nukeyas should paint his wagon, if you can do it without killing yourself. If not, you'd better have some good defense. If you're low on health or offense, there's a spire in one of the spirals. You might need some luck to beat this guy. NOTE: You WILL NOT be able to go back after you beat the next boss. Save in a different slot than before, and don't write over it after you fight Loki and Raven! ------{LOKI/RAVEN}------ Rank: LOKI: 3 | RAVEN: 2 Location: Stadium, after certain requirements have been met Attacks: Loki attacks you and Raven. Raven attacks Loki. Strategy: After you beat Chance and return to the lab, you should see another transmission from Raven. She tells you to meet her at the DOAsys as soon as possible, so she can tell you more about Perfect 1. Save your game, and jump back in. Make your way over to the DOAsys, and find Raven inside of it. Talk to her, and she'll explain a couple of things that no one else would. In particular, you should wait for her to talk, and then ask about Loki. She'll tell you that her and Loki will be waiting in the stadium, and she'll be the one on the right. She also says that Perfect 1 is really three people, and your actions will determine which one you fight. Anyways, exit the DOAsys. Make sure you've beaten _ALL_ the other bosses, or the stadium won't open for you. When you're ready, go there. You can now enter through the gate. Loki and Raven will both be there. Make sure you kill Loki first. Raven will also be shooting at him. Once he's dead, huffman him. Raven will now offer herself to you. Kill her, and huffman her. The stadium will be blown away by a tornado, and you will automatically be sent back to the lab to prepare for the final battle with Perfect 1. NOTE: I've discovered that you can fight this battle any way you want. It doesn't matter which one you kill first, and you don't even have to Huffman Raven. Also, check the sides of the Stadium for joke ads. Particularily, look for "Drink TORK COLA." ------{PERFECT 1}------ Rank: 1 Location: DOAsys Attacks: Runs REALLY fast, and shoots you. Different versions might have different attacks. Strategy: Your DOA should definitely be up to at least 85% by now. After you've defeated Loki and Raven, you will jump into Perfect again. It will be storming, and all the enemies will be gone. Also, you now have a timer where your rank used to be. Don't let it run out. No matter where you are, you should see a giant pillar of light. Go there, and you'll see that the DOAsys is gone. In its place is Perfect 1. Prepare for a battle of epic proportions! Approach her, and some really awesome music will start playing. Perfect 1 will begin running and shooting. You should have a crapload of offense by now, so get a lock and pound her with normal shots and Boomerangs simultaneously. You could also throw in a Nukeya, I guess. If you get low on defense or offense, you can stand under the huge white light to regain some of your power. Anyway, there are three different versions of Perfect 1, and you could be fighting any one of them. I really haven't studied all three of them and their attacks, but if you're having trouble and your stats are high, you can try restarting until you fight "Perfect1 Fe." That's the one I fought and won against. Good luck. If you win on your first or second tries, you might want to restart from before this battle so you can hear all three songs. Each Perfect 1 has a different boss theme, and they're all great. Once you win, you'll see the ending, which is pretty impressive. Congratulations! If you liked this game (like I did,) you can now load a save from before Raven, and try to make a perfect save file. Or, you can restart and try to beat the game with a small amount of DOA. Or maybe you could just replay the game. Who knows. Maybe you just want to sell it! 1011101110001101110100011010110101011111100101010100010100110100010011010110 {AMMO ALGORITHMS} ---{NORMAL WEAPON}--- Shoots a laser. It's still useful, even at the end of the game. Takes less than 1 offense, I believe. You can fire this weapon and other weapons at the same time. A good strategy is to equip this on A, and Boomerang on B. Or, B and C, whatever you prefer. I set the default weapon to A anyways because it feels less weird. But you can just mash the two buttons and do about 4x damage. Of course, you'll use up a lot more offense, but it eventually won't make much of a difference. ---{BOOMERANG}--- Shoots a stronger projectile than the normal weapon. Damage/offense usage ratio sucks, but this weapon can be useful once you have offense to burn. ---{HEX}--- Not very useful, at all. Doesn't seem to do much damage, but it doesn't take much offense and it's an explosive.... Could be useful, I guess. I suppose it's good for what it is. Causes splash damage, and looks really cool when it explodes. ---{NUKEYA}--- I don't recommend using this against anything but a boss. Very powerful stuff, but if you want to use it early on you'll need some Annaballs. This thing takes 50 offense for each shot!! Also, be careful. This weapon does splash damage. You can easily kill yourself if you stand too close to the target. ---{STUNYA}--- Useless. Doesn't seem to do a thing, but it takes Agility to use. I died the first time I fought Riberto, and it was all because of this crappy crap. I've recently found out that you can still use Stunya after you're out of Agility, but it takes about 2 offense instead. If you're not planning on moving around much during a boss fight or something, this COULD help. If you find a way to make it do something, anything at all, that is.... ---{PUSHYA}--- Awesome! Everyone mocks it in the DOAsys, but this thing rules! It pushes enemies back up to 100 feet, and it pushes YOU back 10 feet. What's this mean? You'll never get stuck far away from the DOAsys ever again! Just face opposite the direction you want to go, and mash the button! The best part is, Pushya uses absolutely no offense or agility AT ALL. Also, I've discovered a glitch related to Pushya. You can push yourself inside the DOAsys, but not actually inside. You'll still be on the normal map, but you'll be in the circle of pillar things. Move at all, and you'll be inside completely. Enemies will still try to shoot you, but they can't hit you. ---{MAP}--- It's a map. I don't know why this qualifies as an Ammo Algorithm, but.... ---{ANNABALLS}--- Useful near the beginning. Doubles your max offense and then raises your CURRENT offense to the new, temporary maximum. Single-use item. ---{ASHFLAY}--- Same effect as Annaballs, but it works on your agility. Single-use item. --{CHAFF}--- Protects against normal laser shots for 10 seconds. Single-use item. Not especially useful. ---{SWITCHYA}--- If you hit an enemy with it, you'll switch places with them. I have NEVER used this, but it sounds like it's kinda suck. Typo intended. Single-use item. NOTE: There is a glitch with this thing. If you fire a Switchya at the fountain, it will bounce off and come back to you, giving you another Switchya. In this way, Switchya could become kinda useful, since you'll have an unlimited supply of it. Just stock up occasionally. This glitch also works if you've defeated Sylva. Just fire at the jets of water where the fountain was, and the Switchya will bounce back anyway. ---{ICE}--- Stunya effect on all on-screen enemies, except I think this one works. I've never used it. Single-use item. ---{OFA}--- Hits an enemy and does a storm thing. Not sure what it does exactly. ---{PEMS}--- Takes you back to the DOAsys at high speed. Can save your life. Single-use item. Stands for "Perfect Emergency Medical System." 1011101110001101110100011010110101011111100101010100010100110100010011010110 {PERFECT SAVE FILE CHALLENGE} Have you beaten Immercenary, but you still want more? That's what happened to me. You might want to try "perfectionizing" the game. To do this, you must achieve the following: Defense at 128 Offense at 128 Agility at 128 Rank #1 (Not sure if this is possible, I'll look into it) All powerups gained 9999 crashes (Can the stats page display more? I'll check when I get there) 9999 huffmans (Can the stats page display more? I'll check when I get there) 9999 damage given (Oh, nevermind that. I found out that you can get more.) 0 damage taken (LOL, what a challenge. You probably don't want to do this.) That's pretty much all I can think of. Okay, that's a pretty retarded challenge. But I'll leave it up. 1011101110001101110100011010110101011111100101010100010100110100010011010110 {LOW-LEVEL CHALLENGE} Another way you can get more out of Immercenary is to try beating Perfect 1 with as little DOA as possible. I myself haven't tried this yet, but I probably will some other time. My record at the moment would be 128.... But that doesn't count :) If you do this, tell me how low you were. 1011101110001101110100011010110101011111100101010100010100110100010011010110 {A SECOND GARDEN} There may be a second city to explore!! Many different people mention a second city when you ask them what the garden is in the DOAsys. Here, I'll list my theories, and all the lines related to the second garden. I'll take any theories you people have. You could also try E-mailing Five Miles Out (address at fivemilesout.com.) I would, but I've already mailed them twice about Immercenary. Any more video game talk, and I'd just be annoying them! Anyways, tell me if you find anything! (NOTE: I will be speaking of the possible hidden garden as if it actually exists, just to make things a little easier.) ---{WHY LOOK?}--- I need some more Immercenary!! I mean, come on! I've written to Five Miles Out twice, I've convinced a friend to E-mail them too, and I've even thought about making a sequel myself in Game Maker!!! Immercenary.... Immercenary.... ---{THEORIES}--- My first theory is simple. Get Pushya or some Ashflay, and go to the edge of the map. Face backwards, and push yourself. A LOT. Or, you can run with Ashflay, but that's not recommended. Maybe if you go far enough in the right direction, you'll find something.... My second theory is a lot like my first, but you do it at a different time. Maybe you have to push yourself past the edge of the map after you beat Raven and Loki, and it's storming with no enemies around. Fifteen minutes is a huge amount of time to beat Perfect 1, so maybe it's more related to the second garden. Once, when I was testing my first theory, something happened. Normally, when you go far out it's just seemingly endless brown plate things on the ground. Well, this time, I was using Pushya. It was normal, but then if I pushed anything on the control pad, I'd suddenly be in water. I then tried running normally. Every once in awhile the ground would change from grass, to red stuff, to water, etc. etc. I believe I went east off the map. Related? Probably not.... ---{CLUES}--- I haven't done this section yet, sorry. When it's done, it will list all the DOAsys lines related to a possible second garden, and what characters say them. 1011101110001101110100011010110101011111100101010100010100110100010011010110 {MY STATS} Here are my current stats, if you care. I'll only list the important ones: DEFENSE: 128 --Maxed out OFFENSE: 128 --Maxed out AGILITY: 128 --Maxed out TOTAL CRASHES: 1080 TOTAL HUFFMANS: 1118 RANK: 63 (It's hard to find higher-ranked enemies....) 1011101110001101110100011010110101011111100101010100010100110100010011010110 {QUESTIONS} HA! Yes! Now you can no longer make fun of me for having an empty questions section! - Q: I have to tap the button to strafe in immercenary. Why can't I hold it? A: Thanks for writing. I really don't know why they designed it that way, but you can't hold the button to strafe. I suppose they wanted strafing to be more for dodging than moving. Plus, I noticed that strafing doesn't take any agility. If you could hold down the button to strafe, you wouldn't need agility very much. Of course, it wouldn't have been very hard to fix that problem, but they didn't. Hmmm. - 1011101110001101110100011010110101011111100101010100010100110100010011010110 {ENEMIES} My list of enemies I've met. Enemy rank is related to your own rank, so the ranks of the normal enemies are based on my game. I'm about rank 60, and my enemies have gone up about 80 ranks or so from when I was rank around 130. You should only use these numbers to compare the enemies. ---{GONER}--- Rank: 256 Appearance: Short, human-shaped thing made of polygons. Comments: The most important enemy. Without these guys, you wouldn't be able to beat ANYONE at first. Pathetically weak. ---{PICASSO}--- Rank: Around 120 or 130 Appearance: Gingerbread man! Comments: The easiest non-Goner. Moves kind of fast, and hard to get a lock on. These things are flat! ---{TORK}--- Rank: Around 67 or 75 Appearance: A weird blue and purple guy. Comments: Usually appears in a group. These guys are harder than Picasso, but they won't be much of a problem after you kill a few. ---{KILROY}--- Rank: Around 40 Appearance: A checkered brown and white lady. Comments: I rarely see this enemy. These things can be dangerous. You should probably avoid them until your DOA is about halfway to the maximum. Moves fast. ---{VENUS}--- Rank: Around 30 Appearance: Pinkish lady that does NOT look like Sylva, sorry.... LOL! Comments: I don't really have much experience with them, but I think they're just stronger Kilroys. They look exactly like Sylva.... if Sylva looks exactly like them. And she doesn't, so they don't. Sorry about the mistake. ---{DAVID}--- Rank: Around 12 or 15 Appearance: Cool black guy with a galaxy on his chest. Comments: The hardest non-boss enemy. I fought one by himself, and got half of my defense taken away before I beat him. Moves uber-fast. Only seems to appear by the edge of the map. By the way, "black" means black. Not African-American black, but black. These are my favorite normal enemies. They can also be quite helpful in the DOAsys. ---{MEDUSA}--- Rank: 11 Appearance: Ugly orange lady. Comments: The easiest boss. Lives in the pyramid. ---{TESLA}--- Rank: 10 Appearance: African-American guy who has a torso made of electricity. Comments: He talks tough in the DOAsys, but this guy's easy. He lives in a nuclear power plant thing. ---{BALKAN}--- Rank: 9 Appearance: Green ogre-guy who doesn't wear enough clothing. Disgusting. Comments: This guy might take a couple tries if you don't have really high DOA like I did at the time. I recommend using Nukeya, and then Annaballs if your offense isn't very high. Balkan lives under the playground. ---{SYLVA}--- Rank: 8 Appearance: Pink lady that's not the same as Venus.... Comments: Runs around really fast. Just get a lock on her, and fire. Lives by the fountain. ---{FLY}--- Rank: 7 Appearance: Really ugly fly lady. Comments: Uses a weird fly-attack that distorts your vision. Wait until you can see clearly, and then attack before she uses it again. Lives in the hive, a stadium-like thing that's not actually the stadium. ---{RIBERTO}--- Rank: 6 Appearance: A mummy-ish guy made from one long, twisted ribbon. Comments: Wow, this guy's awesome! That's the coolest idea for a character ever. Anyway, he's supposed to have a weakness to Stunya, but it doesn't seem to do anything. Riberto lives in a weird labrynth underneath a phone booth. ------{CHAMELEON}------ Rank: 5 Appearance: Transparent woman that looks like a man. Comments: You may have seen this lady in the DOAsys. You know-- "Wouldn't be friendly; wouldn't be NICE." Anyway, this boss isn't very hard to see, or hard to beat. You can tell where Chameleon is by moving your crosshair until you see a number 5. ---{CHANCE}--- Rank: 4 Appearance: Pale guy in a robe. Looks uber when he walks. Comments: When you initiate the battle with him, all the nearby Goners will turn white, and their static will disappear instantly. Anyway, he just basically runs and shoots. Pretty hard to beat, though. He appears when you hit his gong. ---{LOKI}--- Rank: 3 Appearance: Caveman-ish guy. Comments: Appears in the stadium with Raven. Easy to beat. ---{RAVEN}--- Rank: 2 Appearance: The same lady from the beginning scene. Comments: Not exactly an enemy. Helps you fight Loki, and then allows you to huffman her. There might be a way to kill Perfect 1 without killing Raven. I'll look into it. ---{PERFECT 1}--- Rank: 1 Appearance: Omnipotent female, male, or robot. Comments: Moves extremely fast, and does big damage. The game's last boss. Perfect 1 has three different incarnations, but they all seem the same. You fight a random version of Perfect 1 at the end of the game. 101110111000110111010001101011010101111110010101010001010011010001001101 {GLOSSARY} Do my big words confuse you? Do you feel like an idiot? Well, here ye go. Meh, I'll alphebetize them later. Who gives a crap. ---{PERFECT}--- The virtual reality world that you fight in. ---{PERFECT 1}--- The SysOp of Perfect. Ranked at number 1, he's (she's?) the strongest. ---{THE GARDEN}--- The city you fight in. There may be a hidden second one.... ---{DOA}--- Defense, Offense, and Agility. Your three stats. ---{DEFENSE}--- Affects how much damage you can take before crashing. ---{OFFENSE}--- Affects how much you can attack before running out of energy. ---{AGILITY}--- Affects how far you can run before having to stop and rest. ---{RANK}--- Everyone in Perfect has a rank. You start at 255. ---{DOASYS}--- The neutral area where you can heal yourself and talk. Important place. ---{CRASH}--- I prefer the word "kill." If you attack someone enough, they crash/die. ---{HUFFMAN}--- The act of collecting the static a dead enemy leaves behind. ---{JUMP}--- The act of moving between the real world and Perfect. ---{RITHM}--- A person in Perfect. ---{AMMO ALGORITHM}--- A power-up. ---{SPIRE}--- Those red, yellow, and blue poles that heal you when you stand on them. I'll probably end up posting more, but these are the basic things you need to know. 1011101110001101110100011010110101011111100101010100010100110100010011010110 {CREDITS} Myself, for being the only one to write stuff for this game. You're welcome. CjayC, for owning GameFAQs and posting this guide. Five Miles Out, for making Immercenary. I E-mailed them, and it turns out that they're still in business. But, they're not doing games anymore. They're doing web design stuff for Aristotle. Everybody send threatening E-mails to them demanding a sequel for PS2! Well, it's kinda obvious that they aren't making another one. Maybe Game Maker will give us a sequel.... 1011101110001101110100011010110101011111100101010100010100110100010011010110 11 ______ _ _ _____ 10 If you have any questions, comments, complaints, | ____|| \ | || _ \ 00 etc. etc. please send an E-mail to my address: | |__ | \| || | \ |00 burgerboydeluxe@aol.com | __| | ` || | | |01 Also, if you're reading this on GameFAQs, it | |____ | |\ || |_/ |11 would be nice if you'd vote yes or no for my FAQ. |______||_| \_||_____/ 10 I don't get much feedback for little-known games. 1001110101011000101111001
